Mild Hypersensitivity

Discomfort that does not interfere with daily activities.

  • No dietary modification required
  • Does not affect oral hygiene habits

Moderate Hypersensitivity

Pain that interferes with eating and oral hygiene.

  • VAS pain score 3-6/10
  • Pain to moderate stimuli (room temperature cold food/drink)
  • Patient avoids certain foods or modifies diet
  • Difficulty maintaining oral hygiene on sensitive teeth

Severe Hypersensitivity

Significant pain affecting quality of life.

  • VAS pain score >6/10
  • Pain to minimal stimuli (air, light touch)
  • Significant dietary restriction
  • Severely compromised oral hygiene maintenance
