In CASE-015, the ending now shows on the child's skin
For seminars using CASE-015: a debrief can start from the picture and the students' own decisions, with the score left for last.
Version 1.25.0 of CASE-015 went live on 28 October. By the release record of this version, in 86 of its 88 frames the six-month-old's skin carries a bluish tint of one of three strengths. The 81 frames of the spell itself use the middle strength, the three improved endings the lightest, and the two critical endings, worsening and arrest, the strongest. The strength in each frame follows what the case text says about the child there.
The first stage now looks like a real ward
Sixteen frames of the first stage are new: the arrival, the home, the case history and the first ten history-taking questions. They are drawn in a realistic style from the same three reference views of each person in the case. The other frames keep their earlier drawings with the tint added; one introductory frame is unchanged.
The case history now opens as a white sheet with dark text. The monitor's readings are drawn by the player over the monitor in the picture, and the time left in the run is shown on screen. Past the limit, it reads as overtime.
Three ways to use it in the seminar
Stop on the arrival frame and ask the group to describe the infant before anyone opens the monitor or the history.
After the run, put two students' endings side by side with their visit logs: the same child, two strengths of tint, and two different sequences of actions to compare.
End with the critical frames and ask the group to find, in their own visit log, the step where their run parted from an improved ending.
Before showing the critical frames in class
The publication does not certify the hand position in the two critical endings for teaching chest-compression technique. No clinical text, score, timer or ending has changed. The case is written in Russian.
